Responsive Web Design, or RWD for short, is all the rage in the web design space nowadays. A simple, pure CSS, solution to the complicated problem of engaging both mobile and desktop users can sound like a godsend. RWD’s supporters tout it as the future of the mobile web, but with its use rarely exiting the content delivery space (blogs, news sites, company information sites) it remains a largely unused method for interactive web applications. This begs the question, is RWD’s promise of solving desktop and mobile web development, in one fell swoop, too good to be true?
